Read about some of the fantastic activities that took place last week whilst learners were celebrating Work Experience Week…
Learners received a tour of the Creswell Crags site and discussed what work experience may be available to them. This included, Grounds Maintenance, Admin, Shop, Café and Photography.
It was a positive experience for learners, giving them a chance to consider their options and discuss them with an employer.
Learners took part in a ‘Preparing for Work Experience’ session. Learners looked at what makes a good employee, work ethics and behaviour in the work place. The session is designed to develop learners skills and knowledge in relation to the world of work.
Learners also visited Dukeries Leisure Centre where they were met by Matt, a Sports Development Officer who gave them a tour around the site. They discussed different job roles, skills and qualities needed for each role and qualifications required. The group engaged really well with the visit and asked lots of questions.
Learners are now considering work experience options that are available to them.
Learners carried out internal taster sessions of work experiences that are available around campus.
These taster sessions helped to form part of the assessment process in relation to work experience. Learners enjoyed a range of activities such as Animal Care, Fix It and the Student Shop.
