What are Short Breaks?

Short break placements at Portland are available for people with disabilities and learning difficulties aged 18 and over.

Placements are normally between 3 days and 2 weeks and provide a respite break for parents and carers as well as a holiday for the individual. Whilst providing the opportunity to develop their skills and confidence in a range of areas.

Short breaks can be self-funded or funded by your Local Authority.

Within Short Breaks, citizens will take part in focussed, meaningful activities with an emphasis on evenings and weekends.
