Throughout June, July and August, Portland Day Services are delivering specially themed activity days from our Kingsway Hub in Forest Town.
The programme has already got off to a fantastic start, with citizens enjoying a variety of themed activities designed to encourage participation, social interaction and fun. During the first two weeks, citizens took part in Boccia sessions, whether they were trying the sport for the first time or developing their skills through friendly and competitive matches. The group also enjoyed a range of indoor games, including giant skittles.
The following two weeks brought a World Cup theme to the hub, with citizens taking part in a variety of football-inspired activities. These included World Cup bingo, designing footballs and flags, and singing along to some well-known football songs.
The sessions have been a great success so far, with citizens enjoying the opportunity to try new activities, meet new people and spend time with friends. There is plenty more to look forward to over the summer, with upcoming themes including tennis, performing arts and a summer party.
