Portland Day Services is delighted to announce that it has been rated ‘Good’ across all areas following a recent quality audit carried out by Nottinghamshire County Council — the highest rating possible under the current day services contract.

The comprehensive audit, conducted during July and August 2025, saw a Quality Officer visit each of Portland’s day service sites to assess compliance and quality of care. The review included observing activity sessions, speaking with citizens who use the service, interviewing staff, and examining key documents such as care and support plans, risk assessments, and procedures.

The inspection assessed performance against five key standards:

  • People experience outcome-focused, person-centred care
  • People are protected from harm
  • People are supported by competent staff
  • The service is managed effectively
  • The environment is safe and homely

Following the audit, Portland Day Services was confirmed as meeting all contractual requirements across every standard — a reflection of the high-quality support and care delivered throughout the service.

Day Services Manager, Matt Gallagher, said:

“We’re incredibly proud of this result, which highlights the tremendous work carried out by our dedicated team every day. It’s a testament to the commitment and professionalism of our staff and Coordinator Team, who go above and beyond to provide excellent care and meaningful opportunities for the people we support.

Knowing our service is highly valued motivates us to keep improving and finding new ways to enhance the experience for our citizens.”

This achievement demonstrates Portland Day Services’ continued commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and person-centred environment where citizens can thrive and achieve their individual goals.
