National Apprenticeship Week

As National Apprenticeship Week comes to an end, we would like to say a huge thank you to the staff who have taken part, shared their stories, and supported our apprentices throughout the week.

We are proud to celebrate the achievements of three inspiring colleagues: Rebecca, Sophie, and Tracey, who have all used apprenticeships as a way to develop their skills and progress in their careers within Portland.

Rebecca completed her Learning and Skills Teacher Level 5 apprenticeship with a SEND specialism in 2024 and now works full-time as a Subject Tutor. Her commitment to learning has helped her grow in confidence and expertise.

Sophie discovered that an apprenticeship was the right path through work experience and went on to gain her qualification. She now works as a Stand-Up Coordinator and continues to build her career within the organisation.

Tracey, a Care Coordinator at Short Breaks, is currently completing her Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care. She is using her apprenticeship to strengthen her skills and provide the highest standard of care.

These stories show that apprenticeships are a valuable development opportunity available to our staff, whether you are starting your career, changing direction, or looking to progress in your current role.
