Occupational Therapy


The Occupational Therapy team provide practical support to empower people to achieve their potential and achieve independence with everyday activities.

We focus on engagement in meaningful activities and work with individuals to set individualised goals and targets and achieve occupational balance.

The team provide one to one treatment, group input, and work closely with education and the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic approaches to overcome barriers to engagement.

We can offer

  • Sensory assessments and interventions
  • Adaptive equipment for:
    • Personal activities of daily living e.g. shower chairs, dressing aids, sleep systems etc
    • Domestic activities of daily living e.g. kitchen equipment
    • Classroom/vocational e.g. seating, sensory items, switches for cameras etc
    • Eating and drinking e.g. cups and cutlery

  • 1-1 and group sessions around:
    • Travel training
    • Theory test practice
    • Cooking
    • Fine motor skills
    • Handwriting
    • Perception
    • Community access
    • Shopping
    • Sensory processing difficulties

  • Support with applying for bus passes and driving licenses
  • Health and wellbeing (alongside nursing and learner services)
