Study Programmes

With a wide range of qualifications and subjects available – from Pre-entry to Level 3, we will tailor a programme to suit you and your needs.

Depending on your interests you will access one of our three study programme options, all with an emphasis on employment and/or preparation for adulthood. Within that pathway you will then be streamed on an individualised route depending on your assessed level.

Functional skills, Maths, English and ICT are embedded within all learners’ study programmes through bespoke individualised approaches and targets as well as through discreet group sessions. GCSE level qualifications are available in both Maths and English.

Enrichment is also offered as part of the study programme and a variety of activities are available based on learner feedback.

In addition to your study programme tutor/s, you will also have a dedicated Progression Tutor who will help you throughout your journey at Portland and will support you with your preparation for adulthood, independence and all aspects of your time at College.

You will also have access to our dedicated Positive Behaviour Support Manager who works solely on keeping learners safe and happy while at College.

The skills, employability and enterprise initiative with local businesses, employer groups and local authorities demonstrates commitment to improving the life chances of learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities when they leave education and training.
