Further Education

Portland has received a record number of applications for September 2017.

Portland College received the largest number of applications ever submitted this year, with 130 applying to begin their placements in September 2017.

The record-breaking figure represents a 25 percent jump from last year, and is also a staggering 85 percent increase compared to five years ago. The number of students to be admitted this year will increase by 26 places, and is the first time that applications have topped the 125 mark. Brand new state of the art facilities like the MUGA, which was installed in January, will help to facilitate the increasing demand for places.

This does however, mean that the College is now unable to process any further applications for a September 2017 start.

If you have any concerns around any potential placement at Portland, have no provision or a placement is at risk, please call the Admissions team on 01623 499114 and we can discuss what options you have. All placements are subject to funding and the presence of an EHCP. We highly recommend any enquiries are done in conjunction with the Local Authority.

We encourage all 2018 applicants to apply as early as possible and have already started accepting applications for September 2018 entry in order to plan assessments starting in the new academic year.

With such a wide range of qualifications available - from pre-entry level to level 3, we will tailor a programme to suit your individual disability or needs.
