Frequently Asked Questions
No, but for applications made after June 30th, councils cannot guarantee that transport will be confirmed and set up for the start of September.
Yes, unless your young person’s tutor has been in contact to advise you that their programme/days are changing.
This cannot be guaranteed. The council will try to minimise changes, but every year the contracts have to go out to tender, and the council cannot confirm ahead of this that it will be the same company who will be transporting your young person.
It usually takes around 4-8 weeks for the application to be processed. Councils will try to contact you in August to confirm your young person’s transport place.
By calling your local council, you will be able to speak to a representative from their customer service team who can support you over the phone with completing your application. If you require any further assistance, you can get in contact with the IAG team by calling 01623 499173 or emailing iag@portland.ac.uk.
