We are a vibrant national charity supported by our patron, Her Majesty the Queen. We have been a specialist college for young people with disabilities and associated learning difficulties for over 65 years.
The Portland College disco is ran by learners and staff, and is a really important programme which helps our learners and citizens to experience socialising in a safe environment. It also enables them to develop the skills they need to eventually be able to access social events externally, plus all essential skills for developing their independence. Our staff support the learners with related enterprise activities and work experience opportunities, whilst working as part of a team.
We will provide you with a Volunteer Role Profile which details what your responsibilities are.
We will meet with you to check on your progress and to support you to develop in your role.
Tasks will include:
The safety of our learners is paramount and therefor any applicant must have a DBS check prior to working on the campus.
For an informal discussion about the opportunity please contact the Volunteer Co-coordinator on 01623 499106 or down load the application form from our website.
