Lewis has been undertaking a work experience placement at SMB Media since April, attending one morning per week. Lewis has been carrying out a range of tasks and activities, which include learning how to use their database, administration and helping to create websites.
Lewis said: ‘I feel honoured to have worked with them; they have made me so much more confident. Staff are friendly and caring and see you as any other person. They treat you as an equal and don’t patronise you’.
Due to the success of the placement, Lewis will be undertaking a Supported Internship with the company in the next academic year, working with them two days per week.
Lewis attends the placement with the support of a Job Coach. Lewis said of his support: ‘I really like Lisa. She has really helped me for moral support and by reminding me of things’.
Lewis has developed so much confidence over the course of the placement and we look forward to seeing how this progresses further.
