Workplace Preparation

Portland College works in partnership with a number of Employers, both large and small to offer individuals the opportunity to experience real working environments, through a combination of Work Experience and Supported Internships.

Portland College also helps individuals to improve their Employability Skills and prepare for future interviews by bringing local, national and international businesses in to the Portland College Campus to carry out mock interviews and assessments for Learners.

Where learners are looking to move into work, or undertake work placements including Supported Internships or Traineeships, Portland College can support both them and the Employers to secure support where needed from the Department for Work and Pensions’ Access to Work’ Scheme.
