Military Assessment and Training
Left, Right & Centre - Assessment & Training for Serving Military & Veterans
Our aim is to provide a wide range of assessments, re-training, resettlement and independence support programmes to provide orientation to civilian life.
Our vision is for injured service personnel to have the necessary support, guidance, assessment, education and training to enable them to leave the armed forces with dignity and confidence, together with the greatest chance possible of a successful return to civilian life, independence and alternative employment. Our overall vision is to ‘Realise the Unimagined You’.
We deal with a broad spectrum of disabilities such as physical, learning and emotional, and have a huge range of specialist skills within our team. These include specialists in dealing with acquired brain injury (ABI), assertive and adaption technologies (AAT), and augmentative and alternative communications (AAC). Through our work with military
personnel, we have forged close links with:
- The Royal British Legion
- Help for Heroes
- The Regular Forces Employment Association
- The Army Welfare Services
- Combat Stress
- The Royal British Legion Industries Limited
Portland College holds preferred supplier status with The Career Transition Partnership, who supplies re-training for the services and Ministry of Defence through Right Management. This emphasises our credentials as one of the foremost centres for service personnel and is an accreditation we are proud to hold. We believe that our commitment to re-training service personnel is part of the Military Covenant between the Armed Forces and the Government of the day.
“We shall not fail or falter; we shall not weaken or tire. Give us the tools and we will finish the job.” - Sir Winston Churchill, 1941
