Portland students celebrate yet another prosperous year

On Friday 10th July 2009, Portland College held its annual Awards Day which celebrates students and their abilities. Special guest Colin Price was on hand to present the honoured students with their awards. Colin, Paralympic medal winner and ex-international Wheelchair Basketball Captain for Great Britain said “that anything was possible as long as people worked as a team.” Principal Mark Dale welcomed more than 200 guests to celebrate what he said was another year of exceptional achievement with heartwarming individual stories. Congratulating more than 60 employment trainees who completed their course over the year Mark said “in the worst recession for a generation, over 50% of our trainees have gone into jobs which is great news and the highest level of job outcomes for any programme in the country.”
