Fundraising
As well as being a national residential specialist college for people with physical and learning disabilities, Portland College is also a Registered Charity (Registered No. 214339).
Each year we need to raise substantial sums of money to provide equipment, support and improve the infrastructure of our College.
Ways to donate:
We have a dedicated team at the College for all fundraising initiatives; please feel free to contact us for help or advice.
Our newest fundraising mission - creating music in the digital age!
In our ArtZone we are always looking at innovative ways of supporting our learners to be creative. We strive to make creating music and art as accessible and fun as we can so we can engage all of our learners in this process. We have recently started using an iPad to develop music making. These devices are a brilliant way of making music accessible to learners; the interface and range of applications make it ideal for music development.
We hope to get enough iPads to create our own iPad orchestra, and take this orchestra out of the college and into the community. This will enable our learners to make their own original sounds, develop their independence skills and show the rest of the community exactly what they are capable of.
We are hoping to raise enough money to purchase seven iPads in the near future. We are looking to raise about £3,500 to enable this to happen. If you would like to contribute to our fundraising there are a number of ways.
We have set up a text code with JustGiving which means that our supporters can text the code PORT01 and their donation amount (£1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10) and send it to 70070. Easy! For more details about how this will work, please visit www.justgiving.com/justtextgiving
Alternatively, if you wish to donate online, please go directly to www.justgiving.com/portlandcollege/donate and make a one-off or monthly donation.
