Portland Print

Portland Print is Portland College’s long standing commercial printing workshop.

Established as a Sheltered Workshop in the mid 1950s, initially to support disabled students unable to find employment in open industry after fulfilling their training courses at the College, the workshop has evolved and undertaken a variety of different work since its inception, including woodwork and re-upholstery, through to development of electronic aids for hearing.

In the 1990’s, the evolution of the workshop saw the development of a printing and design function previously known as Portshel Print. These services have been utilised both internally at the College together with the development of an external client base. The development of Portland Print has contributed positively to the overall financial position of the College, and they have grown in reputation and size undertaking a variety of works for a diverse client base.

Portland Print employs eight members of staff, and provides a quality print service to a variety of highly satisfied clients:
