Our Surroundings

Situated in Sherwood Forest we are right in the heart of Robin Hood country. We are just 3 miles outside of Mansfield and with its thriving student presence, Mansfield has the feel of a big city with the friendliness of a market town.

As well as an active pub and club scene and shopping centre full of high street fashions, the local area has plenty to offer in your leisure time. There are parks such as Rufford Country Park and the National Trust conservation site Clumber Park. Don’t miss out on the famous Major Oak, Robin Hood’s home and the many National Trust properties within half an hours drive from campus.

If you’re the sporty type then Mansfield has more than enough to keep you occupied with numerous gyms and leisure centres, a swimming complex and athletics track. If you prefer to watch than partake you can always visit the local footy team Mansfield Town FC or travel the short bus ride to Nottingham to see Nottingham Forest or Notts County FC.

Everyone loves to dine out and if this is your passion Mansfield will not disappoint. The town centre includes cuisines from all over the world such as Thai, Italian, Mexican, Indian, Chinese and traditional English. There is also an Odeon Cinema, Ten Pin Bowling Alley and a Theatre!

With strong transport links to Nottingham City Centre, a day trip exploring the famous caves and lace market is only half an hour away. Nottingham is at the heart of England and more than 20 million people live within 2 hours drive of the city centre. Billions of pounds of investment has been spent developing the city so it’s the perfect time to sample what’s on offer!
